The halls felt pretty empty without some of my favorite seniors around, including them ones in the picture. I'll miss you guys next year.
Otherwise, today was nice. I had my last quiz in two classes, did just about nothing in the others. I'm gonna try really hard to work on my homework right away tomorrow morning. I'm working Sunday night, so I won't have that luxury to fall back on. Basically, I have to make up math problems for our review presentation and find examples of devices for English. Not a bad haul.
I hosted our Frisbee team's victory party. There were teammates, not teammates, and some people I didn't know were coming, but everyone had a good time. At least, I think. I hope. We watched Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, and that's never a bad way to spend a Friday night.

That's the Pitchfork ticket that came in yesterday. The show is in less than two months, and Streetlight/RBF is two days after that. This should be a good summer.
Our team lost in the Final Four, but I feel good knowing that the team we lost to went on to win the whole thing. We didn't just lose as a fluke, in other words. I played pretty well, I suppose. I got a good assist. All in all, it was a good Frisbee Fest. My pants are oh so muddy, and that's usually a good sign.
I spent most of today listening to Joy Division. I've read a lot about them, and I always expect them to sound like Radiohead, but they never do. They're always more rock-y than I think they will be. Ian Curtis is pretty cool though, even if I always expect him to sing about two octaves higher.
Well, that's all. I have to send one of my friends some Beatles that they've never heard. Shocking, I know. Later.

(Almost) Total Dominance 05/31/2011
Gaze upon this face. It is the face (along with 20 others) of Frisbee excellent. Our team hasn't lost yet. We did so well in the first round that we didn't play until 5, so we had an hour to just hang out, including enduring a worrying period of rain. My forehand throw is getting pretty good. I also scored a point and got a sweet block in the first game. It was a good day, personally and as a team. If we're lucky, we'll play two more games tomorrow, hopefully with a championship game in the stadium. Even if we turn out terrible tomorrow, Final Four is something to be proud of.
My Pitchfork ticket came in today. It's sweet.
School is almost over, and I'm super excited. Finals start a week from tomorrow. Summer '011 is on the way. Yeah!

Five. Five Hour. Five Hour Shift 05/27/2011
Today was a half-day, so just about nothing happened, besides some cool liquid nitrogen demos in chem. After eighth period, I went to lunch at Steak n Shake. It was a good time. A waitress that wasn't ours had different colored eyes like David Bowie. I had a sweet chocolate shake. We talked about bin Laden, the Food Network, and Twitter. It was sweet. A quick stop at a magic shop interrupted an interesting conversation on the way home. I had a little time to play basketball with Mike and Kyle long enough to remember how bad I am at it. I think I'll do that a lot this summer. I need to get better again. I used to have a sweet jump shot.
Apparently I bothered Mrs. Quick with my shout-out. My apologies.
Work was fine. I got to carhop with Jack, and I made a decent chunk of money in tips. Not nearly as good as it should have been though. There was a problem with the deposit machine as I was clocking out, but luckily it got back working. I did not want to owe Sonic 200 dollars. I saw some cute girls too, only some of whom I actually knew. All in all, not a bad shift.
Well, I'm going to bed soon. I gotta be up tomorrow at 7:15 for a band trip. Wish me fun!

Blogging? Eh. Well, I'm back. "Vacation," as I'm calling it, was nice. I didn't blog. Did other stuff. You know how it is. Before I get into the thick of it, I'd like to give Mrs. Quick a shout-out. Glad to have you around. Lately I've been playing tons of Frisbee. The Blue Team should be in top-notch shape for our first three games tomorrow. We play straight away at 3:50, and we are going to be excellent. I saw some dudes playing basketball yesterday. I think once this is over, I'd like to play that more. I used to be good at basketball.
I officially bought my Pitchfork Festival ticket. Woo! I'm also going to see Katy Perry and U2 in July. Though not at the same time. Don't get any ideas. That's about all, I suppose. I plan to upload some more Childish Gambino chord sheets to Ultimate Guitar tonight. It's good to be back.

So Much For The Grind 05/05/2011
Eh, well. I had a band concert last night. We performed well, but there was all this senior recognition stuff that just made it drag on. I hope they enjoyed it because I know most of us did not. I think it would have been better if we did that during class, you know? That stand was a gift to our junior high band teacher that he was using at their concert on Tuesday. Awesome.
My jam right now is "Attracted To Us" by the Lonely Island and Beck. Check it.
I have no homework tonight, so I'm going to listen to some Odd Future and play Portal 2. I think I'm close to beating it. I was jamming earlier with Nate and Joe, we might be performing for all these people during the lunch periods. We'll see. A'ight. I gotta read Pat's poetry essay. Later.

The weekends really throw off my blogging vibe. V-show turned out really nicely. The acts were cool, and the sound company more or less got their act together. I hung out with Steven, Adam, Kelly, and the like a ton. Kevin, if you're reading this, hey. Thanks for reading bud. I might be going to prom too. Woo!
Sonic needs to start putting me on the schedule like a regular employee so I can pay for it. For weeks it's just been "I'll give you a holler when I need you." I could use the hours.
bin Laden is dead. Hence the Obama shirt today. I feel weird celebrating someone's death, but he was a huge jerk, to put it mildly, and the President made a really good speech afterward. I think this might get him reelected. "Osama's not dead until Trump sees the death certificate." Hilarious.
I started Portal 2 yesterday. It's excellent. I feel like I'm forgetting to mention a lot of things, but if they're important enough, I'll talk about them later. Peace out.

Tribune.... 04/27/2011
Guess who's in the Chicago Tribune today. It's that irritating girl from Prom that did the interview with our school paper. That interview I had to transcribe despite wanting to claw my eyes out. I guess she's grounded, whatever that means.
Tomorrow's v-show will probably be a train wreck. Luckily, it's through no fault of us acts; the sound guys are just really unprepared for everything. We should definitely not hire them again. They seem generally unqualified, and when they are qualified they're still behind schedule. My acts are good though, so I can take solace in that.
Oh, I also took the FACT (fake ACT) today. Turning in my scantron only to get an essay sheet was an emotional rollercoaster. Speaking of, having five years of high school is a bad idea. Just so you know.

This is another new shirt. I was wearing it with a black skinny tie earlier; it looked tight.
Rehearsal today was cool because my acts actually sounded good. There was a bunch of new people around to tell us we were hilarious. It was cool.
Tomorrow I have to take the PSAE. After that, v-show dress rehearsal, which will hopefully go fast. In between, frisbee. Woo! See you later.

My mind has been totally boggled since Friday; what she said got more and more confusing as the weekend went on.
Isn't this a cool sweatshirt? I feel like Childish Gambino in the "Freaks and Geeks" video. It's super comfy.
I spent my last period of today consolidating my email. I now have one public and one private, with my school's emails set to forward to my private account. I have all private emails forwarded to my phone, which is nice. I also listened to the new Beastie Boys album, and it's really good. I can't believe these guys are still cranking it out at their age.
Over the weekend, I found out that Streetlight Manifesto and Reel Big Fish are doing a show together this summer at one of my favorite venues, the House of Blues. Tickets are less than thirty dollars. It's like the perfect storm. Pitchfork is looking less and less likely though. Sad face. Lollaplooza lineup tomorrow. Excitement face. I'll see you then.
